On November 18, the Kharkiv Court of Appeal reviewed the previous court decision and increased the bail amount for the driver who, while under the influence of drugs, hit two young children at a pedestrian crossing on November 11. The bail amount for Lysenko was increased almost tenfold.
In his petition, the prosecutor requested an increase in the suspect’s bail to 10 million hryvnias, citing that he was driving under the influence of methadone, and expressed agreement regarding Lysenko’s detention.
In turn, the suspect’s defense insisted on reducing the bail amount, arguing that 10 million hryvnias is excessively high for their client. After weighing both sides’ positions, the court set the final amount at 3 million hryvnias instead of 348,000 thousand
